We have been using Autogate for over 13 years and cannot speak enough about their courteous and very efficient engineers and the office staff.
We recently changed over to Metal gates and the service provided by Autogate was second to none.
Their Engineer Dan is very efficient and courteous at always.
1. Consistently poor communication, late to appointments or late to cancel, several times appointments had to be rearranged at short notice. Sickness can’t be helped on the one occasion but otherwise this causes huge inconvenience when I have moved around work meetings and have had to work from home in order to be around for an engineer.
2. Autogate also completed unauthorised works on our gates. No fixed or written quote had been given just a rough verbal cost, therefore no formal acceptance was given (it was left after initial site visit that the office would ring to confirm a price with the cost of the part…they never did). Then I hear from my neighbour when away on holiday that Autogate had turned up with no appointment and completed works on the gate. This is a violation of consumer rights and trespass/tampering with private property. Whilst Autogate admitted fault, I have had no call to discuss how this has inconvenienced me and no it was all put down to a sorry situation and a miscommunication. This amounted to a huge waste of my time and created a load of unnecessary hassle. In fact they asked me to take my negative review down on Tuesday - I said my comments were valid and important for people to be aware of.
I therefore strongly advise not using this company and advise Autogate to revise internal procedure and customer service practices so that nobody else is subjected to what I was. Had they dealt with this differently I may have considered accepting the works but as we weren’t at the property when they took place another appointment was required at additional cost to get the fobs to work and it felt like the job was being strung out purposefully to squeeze more and more money out of a customer. Given how poor they handled this entire situation they completely lost all faith, trust and customer goodwill and I felt it was best to get them to remove their unauthorised installed equipment and to cut ties.
We are both hugely impressed with your 'after sales' dedication to customer service some three years or more after fitting. I can think of, and indeed know, many who would not care.
You and the crew are a credit to your industry.
